A mother in Ohio is not only grieving from the loss of her teenage son named T.J., but she is also extremely upset with a funeral home after discovering her child’s ashes were placed inside a plastic Wal-Mart bag.
It is bad enough to lose a loved one.
To add insult to injury, a mother in Ohio was forced to grieve again and felt violated after discovering her son, T.J.’s ashes were placed inside a plastic Wal-Mart bag by the funeral home.
Nancy Bronner opened up her son’s urn after he passed away from a heart condition last September. That’s when she discovered the ashes contained in the chain store bag.
She stated “I don't care who you are; it's not right to put a human person's ashes in a Wal-Mart bag. It is still disrespectful.”
The director of the funeral home, Bob McDaniel claimed T.J.'s family asked him to divide the ashes in four separate containers that didn’t seal.
McDaniel wanted to prevent the ashes from spilling which he why he used the plastic bags inside of the urns. Bronner reportedly contacted the Attorney General's Office to file a complaint against the business.
However T.J.’s father defended the funeral home, claiming he believed the bags were only used with good intention of preserving the ashes.
