Airline Introduces Flying Nannies

Etihad Airways, which is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will soon be offering a service which brings nannies on extended air routes to assist moms when infants and children can’t stop screaming and whining.
Mary Poppins is probably the most recognized, albeit fictional nanny in the world. Well a whole new and modern breed of nannies will literally be flying and helping overwhelmed parents on long flights.
Etihad Airways, which is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will soon be offering a service which brings nannies on extended air routes to assist moms when infants and children can’t stop screaming and whining.
Not only will the flying nannies benefit parents, but also childless passengers who are bothered by restless and rambunctious kids. By the end of 2013, the airline hopes to have approximately 500 of the makeshift Mary Poppins nannies.
Thus far, 300 flight attendants have completed a specialized training course at Norland College for the childcare role.
The sky nannies will all wear bright orange aprons. They will be responsible for serving food and drinks along with performing magic tricks and teaching sock puppet making workshops.
A spokesperson for the airline stated “the flying nanny role demonstrates our understanding of our guests’ needs and our commitment to make the journey as relaxing and comfortable as possible.”
