In April of this year, a 19-year-old man named John Etchells stabbed Darren Jamieson in Dundee, Scotland.

Jamieson posted on Facebook only minutes after the attack announcing that he had been stabbed and was ‘gushing blood’.

But here’s where things get even more disturbing. Etchells was out on 6 bail orders when he stabbed Jamieson and one of those previous offenses was another incident involving a knife.

He had been granted bail only 48 hours prior to the attack in April. Etchells plead guilty to the most recent charge. Jamieson encountered severe injuries and permanent disfigurement resulting from the assault.

The whole ordeal began after the two men had been drinking together. A verbal argument began and Etchells suggested they continue the fight outside, but he grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim, piercing his kidney.

Sheriff Richard Davidson reprimanded Etchells stating “You are a dangerous young man. But for medical intervention your victim may have bled to death.”

Etchells has been sentenced to 47 months in jail.
