Ben Affleck is gearing up for his next role. He has been cast as the leading part of Batman in the sequel to "Man of Steel".
Ben Affleck as a superhero? It’s officially happening.
He has been cast as Batman in the sequel to "Man of Steel". Although the future film does not yet have a title, the flick will be directed by Zack Snyder.
The movie will bring Batman and Superman together on screen for the first time. Henry Cavill will play the role of Superman.
Snyder stated “Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry's Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne.”
The flick will also feature stars like Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Amy Adams. Representatives from Warner Bros. Pictures recently made an official announcement pertaining to Affleck and the Batman role, ending weeks of speculation by diehard fans.
Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper were just a few actors who were previously rumored to be involved with the film. The movie will appear in theaters during the summer of 2015.
