Donald Trump's sham 'university' called BS by New York

New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman sued Donald Trump for $40 million, accusing his for-profit "Trump University", in so many words, of being a complete and utter scam on Saturday.

The lawsuit accuses the real estate mogul and 'The Apprentice' star's school of engaging in illegal business practices and seeks restitution for the more than 5,000 students (read: poor, gullible schmucks) who sunk as much as $35,000 into the "educational institution".

"Trump University engaged in deception at every stage of consumers' advancement through costly programs and caused real financial harm," said Mr. Schneiderman, according to a USA Today report. "Trump University, with Donald Trump's knowledge and participation, relied on Trump's name recognition and celebrity status to take advantage of consumers who believed in the Trump brand."

Trump has contested the lawsuit, calling it, through a lawyer, politically motivated. According to the Trump camp, Schneiderman had asked the serially bankrupt business mogul and his family for campaign contributions, but was rebuffed.

"This is tantamount to extortion," said Trump lawyer George Sorial, according to the New York Times.

The advertisements for the 'school' claimed Mr. Trump had 'hand-picked' instructors himself and once billed the institution as a top quality university. The lawsuit, however, claims Trump had not had a hand in choosing even one of the instructors and did not create the curriculum for any of the courses.

The lawsuit goes on to claim many of those enrolled were unable to land even a single real estate deal despite claims by the school it would teach students everything they need to know about the real estate business.

The cotton candy-haired billionaire made his frustrations known to his more than two million Twitter followers and cited a student satisfaction survey.

"Lightweight A.G. Eric Schneiderman, who has been a total failure in office, failed to report the 98% approval rating of students for courses".
