You can upgrade your turret’s damage, give it knockback, or even change its weapon; improve and purchase different spells to cast, unlock new troops, upgrade walls, refill resources quicker, and perform plenty of other upgrades.

Of course, gold is extremely limited, so you should think about what resources you need more, and invest in them. It’s really interesting to have this much choice in a linear strategy, but don’t expect the game to go easy on you.

Although I’ve played it for a couple of hours, and never noticed sudden hikes in difficulty, completing most of the levels on the first try, it’s pretty obvious that sooner or later, you’re going to have to restart a level over and over to grind for gold and upgrade your stuff, before being able to move on. Still, it’s a fine game, so even if you are stopped by paywall, it’s a pleasurable entertainment until then.
