Egyptian court postpones Brotherhood trial

An Egyptian court on Sunday adjourned the trial of three Muslim Brotherhood leaders accused of inciting the killing of protesters, after the defendants could not attend the hearing for security reasons, judicial and security sources said.
The judge leading the trial, Mohamed El Karmouty, set October 29 as the date of the next hearing in the trial of Mohamed Badie, the Brotherhood's "General Guide", and his deputies, Khairat al-Shater and Rashad Bayoumy.
(SOUNDBITE) (ARABIC WITH ENGLISH TRANSLATION) JUDGE, MOHAMED AL KARMOUTY, SAYING:
"The court has decided to postpone the trial of this case until October 29, 2013 in order to bring the suspects from prison. The prosecutor must present them and announce the witnesses for the case."
Charges against Badie and his aides include incitement to violence.
