Star Wars Episode VII will have a retro look according to Cinematographer, Dan Mindel. Dan Mindel is a very popular cinematographer and he has just announced that he has accepted the position to work on one of the biggest movies in Hollywood right now, Star Wars Episode VII. Mindel has worked alongside JJ Abrams many times in the past including on Mission Impossible III and on both Star Trek movies, and believe it or not Mindel is credited as the man who taught JJ Abrams how to perfect his lens flare. But from the way it is sounding, we may not see any lens flares in Episode VII, and that's because Mindel announced recently that they would be shooting the film on 35mm and NOT on digital. Which could mean that the look and feel of the movie will be very similar to that of the original trilogy. Lucasfilm chief, Kathleen Kennedy, told a group of fans at the Star Wars Celebration convention in Germany quote "The conversation we're having all the time now about Episode VII is how much CGI. We're looking at what the early Star Wars films did; they used real locations with special effects. So we're going to find some very cool locations, we're going to end up using every single tool in the toolbox." So, how does everyone feel about Episode VII possibly getting an old-school 70's treatment? Chat with us about it in the comments, and over on twitter at ClevverMovies. Im your host, Erin White, and Ill see ya next time.
