Man Arrested for Calling Emergency Number 28,000 Times

A man in Tokyo called the country’s emergency line thousands of time over the course of about a year and a half. According to police, the 44-year-old man, who works as a convenience store clerk prank called the number 28,000 times from January 2012 until June of 2013.

For some teenage kids making prank calls is a form of entertainment.

One man also seemed to have a fondness for these types of hoax calls, however he chose the wrong number to dial.

The male, who lives in Tokyo reportedly called the country’s emergency line, 110, thousands of times over the course of about a year and a half. According to police, the 44-year-old man, who works as a convenience store clerk prank called the number 28,000 times from January 2012 until June of 2013.

The male reportedly called anywhere from over 100 up to 1,500 times per day. His pranking method of choice would be to wait until an emergency dispatcher answered and then he would immediately hang up.

While it remains unknown whether the middle aged man was simply unoccupied or very paranoid, he did give a bizarre reason to cops for his actions.

He stated “I did it because I was irritated by the fact that I was always watched by police.” Nevertheless, police finally caught up with the man and arrested him for the massive amount of hoax calls.
