How far would you go for a quiche? Two men in Northumberland, United Kingdom can probably be considered the world’s biggest quiche fans after breaking into a café and threatening police.

The thieves illegally entered the business called Cafe@Marshalls on a recent night. Police soon arrived at the establishment, but the males did not surrender easily.

Instead, the culprits armed themselves with knives and hurled threats at cops. A 5 hour standoff ensued.

The woman who runs the café, Angela Marshall stated "Apparently they were hungry and wanted some quiche. There was a little bit of money in the till, but I think they just wanted food and then it got out of hand."

Marshall claimed she received a call at about 1 in the morning informing her of the break in. When she arrived at the café, about 15 police cars surrounded the premises.

Law enforcement authorities were eventually able to convince the knife yielding thieves, aged 20 and 21 to come out. They were both arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

Thankfully no one was injured during the long ordeal.
