Travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler took a reader’s survey of what cities in the world are the most friendly and which are the least friendly.
Newark, New Jersey was listed as the least friendly city in the world according to the survey that tabulated the opinions of 46 thousand readers of the magazine.
Conde Nast Traveler magazine said: “Newark is best known for being the site of an airport near New York, and for many of our readers, that's the only reason to stop there.”
Five of the top ten least friendly cities in the world are located in the United States, including New Haven, Connecticut, Detroit, Michigan, and Atlantic City, New Jersey taking up the seventh, eighth and ninth places.
Oakland, California was listed as the third least friendly city in the world, just behind Islamabad, Pakistan and Newark.
The survey also looked at the friendliest cities on the planet, which listed Florianopolis, Brazil as the friendliest, followed by Hobart, Tasmania, Thimpu, Bhutan, and Queenstown, New Zealand.
The only American city to make the top ten friendliest was Charleston, South Carolina at number five.
