Emmett Till Roscoe Jenkins

A video project for class that I decided to do on Emmett Till. The 14 year old African American boy who was taken from his home, brutally attacked, murdered, and dumped in the river because he was said to have "whistled at a white woman" in 1955. His mother brought the body back to their hometown and had an open casket funeral to show the world what they had done to her boy.
The body was sculpted out of clay and painted using spray and acrylic paint.
The casket was constructed using foam board, fabric, print and misc craft.
The video was shot using a lower quality camera to create and older look.
The crying is what I would imagine his mother would sound like as she went to take one last look at her baby boy's mutilated body.
