Kanye West's taking over the 2013 VMAs and to prepare showed up at Drake's OVO Festival! Welcome back to ClevverMusic. So MTV is letting Kanye West back on stage at this year's Video Music Awards in Brooklyn, it's true. The announcement came from MTV on their Instagram with a picture of a Moonman eatings croissants with the Yeezus CD. The caption explained, "Don't worry Ye, we got your damn croissants." Quoting a now famous Kanye song lyric. The audience will be graced with Kanye's song "BLKKK SKKKN HEAD" at the Barclay's Center on August 25th which will puts Yeezy in the MTV history books for a tie with Madonna for most VMA performances, with 7. So far the only other performer announced for this year's show is Ms. Lady Gaga who will perform her first "ARTPOP" single. Gaga is keeping her VMA performance prep top secret, while Kanye is getting some more performances under his belt before taking the stage in Brooklyn. Last week in LA he surprised at Travis Scott's show and just last night he surprised the audience at Drake's 4th annual OVO Festival in Toronto. Ye and Drizzy took the opportunity to squash any rumors of beef between the two rappers. Drake introduced his pal Kanye on stage, whom first performed track "New Slaves" and took the chance to toast Drake. Yeezy praised Drake's talent and success for pushing The Throne to work harder. Yeezy explained to the crowd in the middle of his performance, "Me and Hov would've never made Watch the Throne if [Drake] wasn't putting pressure on us like that, so I just wanna pay my respect." Woah- Kanye speaking for Jay? Wonder how Hov feels about that. We're not sure if we'll ever know, but we do know is the feelings are mutual. After the show Drizzy was so moved by Ye's words he told MTV News, "That was probably the most important moment in my career to date." We just love getting our hands on some hip hop love. Maybe Drake and Ye will be the next to do a collaborative album? Or maybe Drake will surprise during Kanye's upcoming VMA performance? We'll take either of those, thank you. Which do you want?
