Modeled on the running of the bulls during the San Fermin Festival in Pamplona, Spain the Great Bull Run is planning to take place in 10 cities around the United States.

The tradition of people running alongside bulls in the streets began in Spain, and has become a tourist attraction that lasts for one week.

It is dangerous and many people have been injured over the years, with a few of the participants being killed.

All of the animals are killed in bull fighting matches at the end of the week.

The American spin offs will only be one day events, concluding with another Spanish festival knock off involving people throwing tomatoes at each other in a tomato fight.

Participants have to sign a safety waiver, and the organizers of the event have said that the bulls are treated humanely, with a veterinarian on hand to take care of the animals.

The first round of the Great Bull runs will take place in Richmond, Virginia on August 24th, with around 5 thousand people who have already signed up.
