Johnny Football in trouble for his Johnny Hancock

Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel is now being investigated by the NCAA to see if he was paid for signing hundreds of autographs on photographs and memorabilia in January during his trip Miami for the BCS National Championship.

ESPN's "Outside the Lines" reported on Sunday that two sources told them Johnny Football agreed to sign stuff in exchange for a five-figure flat fee. The two sources said they saw the signings, but neither of them saw any money change hands.

Three sources said Johnny was seen signing footballs, mini football helmets and other items for autograph broker Drew Tieman. ESPN said that Tieman first approached Manziel on Jan. 6 after he landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to watch Notre Dame and Alabama game.

After that meeting, apparently Manziel, accompanied by a friend and personal assistant Nathan Fitch, went to Tieman's place and signed hundreds of things in the main room of the apartment while there were several other people in the room. Another source said before leaving Florida, Manziel signed hundreds of more autographs.

If the NCAA finds that Manziel violated NCAA Bylaw 12.5.2.1, accepting money for promoting or advertising the commercial sale of a product or service, he may be ineligible for the next season.

Johnny has been getting quite a bit of attention during this offseason. He has an affinity for Twitter, was kicked out of Manning Passing Academy and just last week was also booted from a UT frat party.

NCAA's amateurism rules prevent players from making money on their name and image, so Manziel may be ineligible next year. Only the NCAA and the colleges should profit...right?
