The Wanted drop new party song "We Own the Night" borrowing the title from a familiar Selena Gomez track! Welcome back you are tuned in to ClevverMusic with all your popular music news. If you know anything about UK boy band The Wanted you know they like to party and have a good time. After teasing their new song in their E! reality show they have officially dropped the nostalgic sounding single "We Own The Night" on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. While Justin Timberlake's recent song "Take Back The Night" tries to repress it, The Wanted claim they own the night time. The pop sound is a familiar one from the fivesome. Nathan Sykes told Ryan, "It takes us right back to the sound which everyone knows us for, and sets the mood for the new album." The pop song is catchy no doubt but not as clubby as previous song "Glad You Came". The lyrics to the new bagpipe infused pub song include, "May our hearts be full like our dreams tonight/ May we sing and dance 'til we lose our minds/ We are only young if we seize the night/ Tonight we own the night." Followed by lots of la la la's from the guys. But "We Own The Night" is a familiar song title as pop darling Selena Gomez and her band The Scene have a song by the same name. Selena's song is a bit more romantic and slowed down. In it she singing, "We can drive in your car, somewhere in the dark/ Pull over and watch the stars/ We can dance, we can sing, do whatever you think/ As long as I'm with you." We're not sure at that point if Selena was singing about now ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber but we do know as speculated Biebs will NOT be featured on The Wanted's new album. It was rumored the two forces had collaborated on a song for The Wanted's upcoming album titled "Word of Mouth". The band's manager Scooter Braun now claims Justin and the guys only did some writing together, no recording. "Word of Mouth" will come to your ears September 17th. But until then take a listen to Selena and The Wanted's version of owning the night and tell us who's you like better?! Thank you so much for watching another music segment here on ClevverMusic. I'm your host Misty Kingma and I'll be back really soon with more where this came from.
