Rosa Marchitelli and Rob Brown may soon become Canada’s first husband and wife news anchor team.
The couple will sit next to one another at the anchor desk starting on September 9th, but until then the two are working at competing stations.
The couple, who have been married for 10 years, said it was a big decision, as in addition to their own relationship they have the happiness of their 3 children to consider.
Brown said he approaches the job like he would any other – as a reporter rather than an on-air personality. Both he and his wife are focusing on their journalistic responsibility.
Plus, they’re realistic about the arrangement. They already have a plan in place for how to handle disagreements.
According to Marachitelli, “We’re not the kind of couple that has really vocal fights,” “Just like we would discuss things at home, we plan to discuss things in the workplace. Different issues of course.”
Another thing they’re already aware of is how nuts they drive their kids with all the news talk. As self-proclaimed news nerds, the talk around the house weighs heavily on the shop side.
