Royal Bank of Scotland has named its new boss.

He is Ross McEwan, a New Zealander, who joined RBS just one year ago to run its high street banks.

His biggest task is to get RBS ready for the British government to start selling its eighty one percent stake, which it ended up with after a fifty three billion euro taxpayer funded bailout, during the 2008 financial crisis.
