Police in Washington have released surveillance footage of the mystery man who is known as ‘Elephant Man Bandit’.
Police in Washington are looking for the mystery man who is known as the ‘Elephant Man Bandit’. The King County Sheriff’s Office recently released video footage of the male, as he entered and robbed several local banks.
The bizarre nickname was coined because of the thief’s disguise of choice. In all of the robberies, The Elephant Man Bandit drapes a thin, square-shaped piece of fabric over his head. Although the cloth conceals his features, the way the material hangs and clings to the male's skin makes his face resemble an elephant’s.
So far, the thief has hit three separate banks during the month of July. He’s being referred to as a serial bank robber.
In each of the thefts, the unknown suspect implied he had a gun on him and demanded cash. Police are asking the public for help in identifying him. He is described as a white male in his 40s or 50s, who has grey hair and stands about 5 feet, 11 inches tall.
Investigators believe the man is a Seattle local. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers or the King County Sheriff’s Office.
