Monster Trucks take center stage in Paramount's new animation film. Who doesn't love watching a well decorated monster truck demolishing rows of cars in the dirt and mud? Well, Paramount is hoping that we're all intrigued enough to hit theaters to see their upcoming live action/computer animation movie called Monster Trucks, which comes out in the summer of 2015. But it's not just the concept that Paramount hopes will draw a crowd. The potential creative team behind this project is pretty stellar. According to Deadline the script will be written by Kung Fu Panda's writers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. And right now, the studio is in final negotiations with Ice Age director, Chris Wedge, to helm the project. Animation is Wedge's specialty and he even won an Oscar back in 1998 for a short animated film called Bunny that he wrote and directed. And his Ice Age films have made almost $2.8 billion worldwide, making it the 11th highest grossing franchise of all time. And Wedge isnt just the brains behind the productions either, he's also done voice over work too. He actually voiced the character Scrat in the Ice Age films. Production on Monster Trucks is set to begin in early 2014, with a budget of 100 million bucks, which is almost double the budget for the original Ice Age , so we have high expectations already. But are any of you skeptical? With Disney's animated Cars franchise, and their new Planes franchise coming out in August, do you think Paramount is trying to jump on the transportation themed movie bandwagon? Or do you think this potential creative team will try and do something different with Monster Trucks?
