It’s been the visible face of the recession. Britain’s High Street. Once the much loved heart of the community; now an empty shell of what it used to be. There are a record 30-thousand empty shops across the country. In some parts of the North of England, 1 in every 5 shops is boarded up. Even in London, well over 1 in 10, or 7-thousand shops lie empty, costing the capital £350 million a year.
