The Flash gets a television series, but what about the movie? That's right my friends, the CW's President, Mark Pedowitz recently announced that the network is currently developing a new television show called Flash, which will be a drama that is based on the fan favorite, DC superhero. But, it is likely that we will see Flash sooner than later, because the network is planning on using the second season of their breakout series, Arrow, to introduce the character to fans. Pedowitz said quote "We plan to introduce the recurring character of Barry Allen, who is the Flash. We're planning an origin story, and we'll see how it goes. We do want to expand on the DC Universe, and we felt this is a very organic way to get there." He also said that Flash actually may not come in to the show with superpowers. But flash may not be the only DC superhero showing up on the show. The Arrow producers have dropped some hints that we could even see other members of the Justice League involved down the road. But what about a Flash movie? Could this keep the superhero from making it on to the big screen? Well, according to Pedowitz, he's spoken to DC Comics President, Diane Nelson, and hes concluded that there shouldn't be any conflcts but he is unsure about whether or not we will see any continuity in the story line from the television series to the movie, stating the DC characters on television could possibly exist in an alternate universe from the film versions. Wrath of the Titans writer, Greg Berlanti, is currently working on developing the Flash film for DC and Warner Brothers, and according to THR, we may see that hit the big screen in 2016. Now, we had heard recently that things were still moving along for CW's Wonder Woman Prequel, called Amazon, and back in May Pedowitz brought in Heroes scribe Aron Eli Coleite to re-write the script, but in this panel discussion, Pedowitz said quote "Amazon is on pause right now. The script isn't quite where we want it. Its an iconic DC character and we are not going to put it on unless it works. And now, having the DC universe expand with the origins of Black Canary coming on this year, as well as potential origins of The Flash, it's better to wait and get it right." So, do you all like DC's approach in expanding their universe by using television shows and movies? or could having multiple heroes on the big and small screen just causing confusion?
