It's a huge day for fans of Disney channel stars of both present day and the past. For the first time ever in her career, Selena Gomez officially debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, bumping Jay Z from down to #2, with her fourth studio album Stars Dance, and that's just in the USA. The 21 year old singer's release nabbed the number-1 ranking in 28 countries total. The uber successful release of Stars Dance was a follow-up to her double platinum single Come and Get It, which dropped in April. And the video for the debut track from the full-length album is nominated for an MTV VMA.

But, as I mentioned -- this is a big day for Disney Channel stars present and past. That said, would you believe that Ross Lynch and the cast of the wildly popular DCOM Teen Beach movie, are sitting pretty at #3, just a few spots behind Selena Gomez, with the TV movie's soundtrack. The soundtrack continues to climb the charts -- last week it was at #8. And guys, I should clarity that this isn't just the soundtrack chart, this is the overall Billboard 200 chart we're talking about. For the record, the Teen Beach Movie album is still at #1 on the soundtrack chart.

Talk about a big week in music -- What do you think about this big first for Selena Gomez when it comes to earnging the #1 rank? And what do you think of Teen Beach Movie's soundtrack continuing to climb the charts. Do you think it could eventually take the top spot? Give us your thoughts down in the comments section and keep it locked right here on ClevverTV for more music news you can trust. I'm Joslyn Davis, thanks for watching!
