The month of Ramadan is a lunar month which falls at a different time each year. Fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. During the month, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and refrain from sins. The prophet Mohammad told his followers that the gates of Heaven would be open all the month. That’s why Muslims in Iran spend most of their time in Ramadan reciting Quran and going to mosques and religious gatherings.
