Some thieves have terrible luck. A man in El Paso Illinois, James E. Fleming was recently indicted for burglary.

The charges stem from an incident on June 9th of this year, when Fleming allegedly tried to crack open a stolen safe in a cop’s backyard. According to court documents, Fleming walked into a local church through a door which wasn’t locked.

Once inside, he stole a safe and quickly left the premises. He carried the safe for about a block, and then stopped in the backyard of a private residence.

Fleming attempted to pry open the safe using a screw driver but that proved to be futile.

He left the area a little before midnight, but Fleming returned to the same backyard the next day to continue the safe-prying attempts. Well he picked both the wrong time and yard.
