Story:
Anshu (Sanchita Padukone) and Shyam (Varun Sandesh) are class mates and the acquaintance after a lengthy tiring romance turns to love. The parents agree to this alliance and they are engaged. On one occasion Shyam goes out of town for work and slowly starts ignoring and forgetting the little sweet things associated with his fiance which includes her birthday. Upset at being neglected she flings the ring at him, and says she wants to break up as she sees no love and future in their upcoming wedding. But did Shyam fall really in love with Anshu? Did Anshu realise her folly and return to him and did Kiran make the film as it is or did he add any drastic changes?
In the beginning of the film, in the title cards we are shown snippets of some beautiful and great love stories in Indian cinema and we are under the impression that Chammak Challo will surely be an addition to the list, and nothing wrong, as the director too thinks that way. But sadly he makes a third person narrate this story and makes a simple story look thoroughly silly. BTW, we call it simple and silly because there is a song that goes ‘simple ga cheppala silly ga cheppala’. As soon as hero and heroine fall in love, interval is announced. Do we really need to go to theatres and spend so much money just to see this preposterous script unfold. There is no hope in the second half of the film too.
