A patient at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland hospital, she was shot in the abdomen.

She was sent for surgery, following which the victim was said to be in stable condition.

The bullet that hit her entered the building through a first floor window and a county official says it could have been fired from over a mile away.

There was no one else hit, nor was there any damage to the facility.

Authorities say the bullet was located on the patient’s bed shortly after the shooting occurred.

Among other details being investigated, they are trying the determine the type of weapon used.

There are no clues as to where the bullet originated.

The county district attorney doesn’t feel the patient was a target of any kind and assured the public that the hospital is considered safe.
