A softhearted mermaid in Florida is fighting for her rights to swim in her community’s pools. Jenna Conti enjoys wearing her mermaid suit while entertaining children and adults in pools of the FishHawk Ranch master planned community.

She stated “It makes me feel amazing makes children smile makes adults smile, everybody happy, you don't expect to see a mermaid at the pool.” However her costume, specifically the fin, is posing a little problem.

According to the Community Development District board, Jenna cannotshe cannot wear the tail in the pool as it violates safety rules because there is a strict ‘no fin’ policy. Although community authorities claimed they love Jenna’s idea of entertaining the kids and her intentions, they cited a violation of the rules for the mermaid ban.

Local residents aren’t happy about the decision and many are in favor of allowing mermaid Jenna back in the community pools. Jenna has and continues to fight the community board’s decision to ban her from the pools.

Apparently the only way around the ‘no fin’ ban is to be part of the events calendar and she is hoping her name will be added, but that is unlikely considering all of the dates are booked up until next year.
