James Wan's The Conjuring may scare it's way right into a brand new franchise. So far, The Conjuring has garnered some pretty good reviews from folks who had a chance to screen it early, and according to Variety, New Line is wasting no time on getting things lined up for a part two, and even have The Conjuring writers, Carey and Chad Hayes, back on board to write the sequel. The story of The Conjuring is based on real life paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, who have contributed some of their real life ghostly and demonic tales to several other Hollywood pics like The Amityville Horror" and The Haunting in Connecticut." In The Conjuring Patrick Wilson plays Ed Warren, and Vera Farmiga plays Lorraine, and actors Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor play the parents of 5 girls who were terrorized by the house. New Line is known for very successful horror films which include Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday The 13th, and all of the Final Destination films. And after hearing from New Line President, Toby Emmerich, the studio thinks that The Conjuring may be the best horror film they've made yet. He said quote "This is as good a horror movie as we've ever made.... We think it will have great playability." He also said quote "We have Lorraine's permission and support, and we are working on developing another film," The Conjuring opens in theaters on July 19th, and if you want to see our review for The Conjuring, click on the link to it in the description below.
