Treehouses have come a long way in recent years. The renowned treehouse designer, Antony Gibbon has come up with a new structure that emerges upwards directly from a tree trunk.

Called the Embryo Treehouse, it is described as a two story dwelling, shaped like a cylinder. The Embryo is actually attached to the tree by braces that do not interfere with tree’s natural growth process or damage it in any way.

The exterior is clad with cedar shingles to effortlessly blend in with the outdoor scenery. Gibbons stated “We are more and more being disconnected from our natural surroundings and the embryo is part of a series of designs to try and reunite and reconnect us back to the elements and how we interact with nature, whilst using materials resourcefully.”

A spiral staircase wraps around the interior, taking guests up to the second floor. Long, rectangular windows allow for gorgeous views of the forest surroundings and also provide natural light.

What do you think? Can you live here?
