A 35-year-old man named Sean is an activist in Manchester, England. On October 5th, he will begin a month long ordeal, living in a cage like a stray dog.
Not many people fully know about the plight of stray dogs.
To bring awareness to the situation, a 35-year-old man named Sean, an activist in Manchester, England will be living just like one. On October 5th, he will begin a 35 day and night ordeal living in one of the kennel’s at Manchester and Cheshire Dogs’ Home where he volunteers.
Sean will only get about an hour of downtime a day, where he leaves the kennel and uses the bathroom. He will not eat for the first four days, as his temporary way of life will completely mimic a stray.
Sean will also have a microchip placed in his shoulder. Once the month-long event is over, Sean hopes people will realize the plight of homeless dogs. He wants them to consider adopting rather than buying a brand new puppy.
He stated “People thought I was crazy when I came up with the idea. It’s going to be really tough. The toilet will obviously be an issue so I’ve cut caffeine, salt and sugar out of my diet to sustain my water levels.”
Health authorities will be on site to make sure Sean is safe.
