It's an extremely sad day in Hollywood after this weekend's shocking news revealed that 31-year-old actor Cory Monteith had passed away in his Vancouver hotel room. Hotel workers found the "Glee" star dead on Saturday around noon after missing his check-out, and while the cause of death is still unknown, there is no indication of foul play. This tragedy comes just a few months after Cory had voluntarily admitted himself into rehab for substance abuse. Our hearts ache for Cory's family, friends, and fans during this difficult time, and based on Hollywood's reaction -- the people who are already in the public eye, it seems like Cory really touched a lot of people in a positive way. Countless celebrities have spoken out about the devastating news --- from his fellow Glee cast members to his famous peers, as this tragedy has definitely left many absolutely depressed and really searching for answers. Co-star Mark Salling broke the cast silence, first tweeting out simply a heart wrenching, "no." before deleting the post and saying quote, "going through a million memories and emotions today. ill love you always Brother Cory." Harry Shum Jr. shared his devastation, saying quote, "At this time, please send nothing but love and light. This tragic news still doesn't seem real to me. I love you Cory." Matthew Morrison, Cory's on-screen teacher & mentor also spoke out about Monteith's untimely death, referring to him as a brother before dedicating an a capella version of "What I Did For Love" from the musical, "A Chorus Line," which if you remember, Lea Michele performed back during Glee's second season. Speaking of which, Lea Michele, Cory's girlfriend, had her publicist make a statement asking that we all respect her privacy during this time. Other celebs who Cory has worked with in the past have spoken out as well --- Selena Gomez, who co-starred with Cory in Monte Carlo posted a photo of the two of them hugging at this year's Kids' Choice Awards along with the caption QUOTE, "This hurts. I love you Cory. Rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family." Kevin Zegers, his co-star in the upcoming indie drama, "All the Wrong Reasons," seemed to be particularly jarred by the news, first tweeting out simply, "My heart is broken" followed by "I've never lost a friend this close. This feels like a mistake." Friend and rumored ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift said simply, "Speechless. And for the worst reason." The list of celebrities who have responded to Cory's overdose goes on -- because again, it really seems like this guy was loved. Other stars who have spoken out include Katie Cassidy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Katy Perry, Lucy Hale, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Nina Dobrev, and dozens more. We too are sending love to Cory's family and friends -- and we just can't imagine how hard this must be for everyone who was a part of his life, Please leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below. I'm Dana Ward, thanks for tuning in.
