Israeli Prime Minister Benjamn Netanyahu showed FIFA President Joseph Blatter photographs of rockets being launched from football pitches in Gaza after hearing complaints about how Israeli military impositions are affecting Palestine sports.
He claimed that the Palestinian militia was committing a double crime by shooting against Israeli civilians whilst hiding behind civilians. Blatter, who met President Mahmud Abs in Ramala claimed that his heart was with Palestine, informed Netanyahu that Israel was harming Palestinian sport. One of the main complaints was that Israel does not allow players living in Gaza to get to matches or training sessions freely, and also blocks foreign trainers and players who visit. Blatter went on to say the Israel's football federation could be faced with sanctions if the situation does not improve.
