A group of men had been outside a private residence playing the game, when four gunmen reportedly approached the males and attempted to rob them.
A 23-year-old man, identified as Joshua Childs died from his injuries due to the shooting. According to one of the surviving victims, the robbers just emerged from the darkness, seemingly out of nowhere.
He and his friends initially thought it was a joke when the men began issuing demands, but none of the domino players had time to hand anything over as the suspects immediately began shooting without warning.
A spokesperson for Broward Sheriff's Office stated “They're armed, they are dangerous. We need to get them off the streets. They've killed. They could do it again.”
The crime, which occurred in a family friendly neighborhood has been described as an ambush.
