Del Toro resurrects monster movie with 'Pacific Rim'

Mexican director Guillermo Del Toro puts a comic book spin on the end of the world with his latest offering, "Pacific Rim".
It's giant robots versus monstrous aliens in this $150 million US dollar adventure-apocalyptic epic.
Walking the red carpet in London for the European premiere, British-born actor Idris Elba explains what attracted him to the project:

"We're seeing a lot of remakes, a lot of reboots. This script is actually original, and you know, the history of kaiju versus robot is an old one, but (director) Guillermo (Del Toro) has put his spin on it,"
A self-proclaimed lover of monsters and giant robots, Del Toro said "Pacific Rim" was his attempt to create a spectacle for the whole family.
