A man in Dinwiddie County, Virginia has tragically passed away after a trailer loaded with fireworks exploded. According to reports, the victim had been making homemade fireworks when the explosion occurred.

Who doesn't like fireworks? But needles to say, they can also be dangerous.

A man in Dinwiddie County, Virginia has tragically passed away after a trailer loaded with fireworks exploded.

Investigators arrived on scene to find the male among the debris. He was immediately flown to a hospital, but unfortunately was declared dead a short time later.

18 bags of firework material had been found in the trailer, including explosive powders. The items had been purchased online.

According to reports, the victim had been making homemade fireworks when the explosion occurred. The trailer was located about 20 feet from the man’s family home, which is where his wife and daughter were at the time of the tragedy.

Thankfully, they were not injured. The victim had put on an annual fireworks show for many years. He was said to be extremely careful when it came to handling the explosives.

A state police bomb squad brought the firework material to a landfill, where they were detonated.
