Ms. Nicki Minaj wins high honor for the 4th year in a row at 2013 BET Awards! Hey ya'll thanks for checking back with ClevverMusic for your BET Awards action. Nicki Minaj won her fourth straight "Best Female Hip Hop Artist" award at the 2013 show. She was gracious and gorgeous as ever accepting the award in a sexy black strappy gown and short straight blonde wig, one of three outfits for her that night. In her speech Nicki broke it down saying, "In regards to rap, this is my 4th award in a row. Every time I win it's a humbling experience, I know people may not think that..." We believe you Nicki! Nicki performed twice on the show opening the night with Chris Brown and later with pal Ciara. Other award winners were all about new kids on the block. Rising hip hopper Kendrick Lamar won "Best Male Hip Hop Artist" and "Best New Artist" quite a feat for a newcomer! Not to mention he beat out last year's Male Hip Hop winner Drake, but don't worry Drake (who had the most nominations with twelve) didn't go home empty handed taking the Coca-Cola Viewers' Choice Award and the coveted Video of the Year for 'Started from the Bottom'. But rapper Drake was noticeably absent from the show—possibly because nemesis Chris Brown was in attendance? Possibly. Emerging R&B crooner Miguel beat out last year's winner Chris Brown for Best Male R&B Artist while Rihanna took home Best Female R&B Artist. Chris Tucker hosted the annual show this year which saw a tribute performance to singer Charlie Wilson. Snoop Lion, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell got together to perform with Charlie a medley of his hits and the fellas even showed us some choreographed dance moves! So tell me you guys—we're you surprised Nicki won Best Female Hip Hop for the 4th year? For all your BET coverage and more keep it right here on ClevverMusic. I'm Misty Kingma thanks so much for tuning in.
