A terrified woman in Dunedin, New Zealand accidentally superglued her own lips shut. The 64-year-old lady called the country’s emergency number, 111 begging for an ambulance, but operators could not understand her.
Emergency operators often deal with anxious callers, making it tough to understand what they are saying.
For a terrified woman in Dunedin, New Zealand, the reason for her indiscernible speech was superglue.
The 64-year-old lady called the country’s emergency number, 111 begging for an ambulance. Operators could not make out a single word.
A police sergeant stated “Ambulance received a call, but due to the muffled speech ... they were unsure whether it was a medical event or whether someone had been gagged. Basically, she could only grunt.”
Police were sent to her home and discovered she had woken during the night and picked up what she thought was lip cream.
However in the dark, she accidentally picked up a tube of superglue and applied it to her lips.
Her breathing was reportedly impaired as a result and she was hospitalized, but has since been released.
