A reunion between a soldier and his or her family is an incredibly joyous event.
Recently, a soldier surprised his family in one of the most unique and heartwarming homecomings ever.
23-year-old Ryan Goodwin had been away from his fiancée, Michelle and his two future stepchildren aged 11 and 7 for the past eight months while on deployment to Kuwait.
Knowing his absence had been extremely tough he wanted to do something special for the girls. Goodwin stated “It started out as a joke. I said to Michelle, ‘We could always take them to the aquarium and I could jump out with the sharks and say hi to them.”
That little idea turned into a reality. Michelle and the two kids recently visited the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky. As the girls peered into one of the tanks, they saw sharks, an abundance of other sea creatures and also their soon-to-be step daddy, who swam up to the window fully decked out in scuba gear.
Not surprisingly, the children were shocked and overjoyed.
