A clever thief can find value in pretty much anything.
And one such creative tractor operator in Russia allegedly stole a bridge located in the village of Frolovo.
But the problem was that the suspect left a trail for cops to easily follow right to his front door. The unidentified 23-year-old male reportedly hooked up the small metal bridge to his tractor after he separated the pieces with help from a welding machine.
Once he left the scene and towed the pieces away, drag marks pinpointed the culprit’s route back home. The alleged thief used a cutting torch to portion the metal bridge off into even smaller pieces but he did not have a chance to sell them before police arrived.
The suspect was recently placed on parole for a previous offense and he could face an additional two years in jail for his newest stunt. The now missing bridge means local residents don’t have a way to get to a nearby spring that acts as a backup water supply for the area.
