Sweden's largest building society, known as HSB will be observing its 100th anniversary in 2023. As part of a celebratory competition, architects have devised a proposal for a solar powered, efficient wooden skyscraper.

The innovative wooden proposal was created by the firm, C.F. Moller.

The 34 story tower will contain a community center, market square, cafes, a fitness center, and even a public winter garden. Essentially it will serve as a community staple and meeting hub for locals and tourists. There will also be plenty of room in the building for private residences.

The tower will be an iconic landmark, as residents and tourists will be able to see the skyscraper from numerous points throughout the city, miles away from the location. The wooden construction will rest over a concrete base, providing an extra layer of strength.

The apartments will each house wooden ceilings, walls, window frames and a glass-covered veranda.

The roof’s solar panels provide power to the structure.

How do you like the concept?
