A retired postmaster has spent over $30,000 to create a replica of the Taj Mahal as a tribute to his spouse. The elderly man from Uttar Pradesh, India lost in wife in late 2011.

Now, a 77-year-old has gone to great lengths to express love for his deceased wife. The retired postmaster has spent over $30,000 to create a replica of the Taj Mahal as a tribute to his spouse.

The elderly man from Uttar Pradesh, India lost her in late 2011. Filled with grief and loneliness, he decided to build the structure. His plans are coming to life on a 5000-square-feet piece of land.

The Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan is the man behind the original Taj Mahal. Comprised of white marble, the extravagant structure took around 20 years to build.

Although the former postman’s upcoming Taj Mahal is a miniature sized version, it will house the tomb of his own wife. The replica will have calligraphy inscriptions.

And he has a perfect view of the grounds from his own house.
