A man in Chicago has been charged with a hideous crime.

25-year-old Xavier Guzman allegedly opened fire and shot a 21-year-old man. The drive-by shooting was completely random, as Guzman did not know the victim. The crime occurred a little after midnight on Monday, basically only hours after Father’s Day came to an end.

The reason for the violent act was reportedly because Guzman became enraged after his ex refused to let him see his child on the holiday specifically for daddies. The suspect told police he had gotten into an argument with the mother of his child. Evidently he was uncontrollably angry, as Guzman stated that he “wanted to take it out on someone”.

He was arrested shortly after the shooting when he left the scene of the crime. The victim was shot in right forearm but he was said to be in a stable condition at a nearby hospital.

Guzman has been charged with the unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and aggravated battery with a firearm.
