Yard work is a routine task for many people, but it can also be hazardous.

A 56-year-old has lived through a horrific ordeal.

The Brazilian man named Gregory had been cutting wood at his home with a power saw when he lost control of it. Terrifyingly, his grip on the saw slipped and the circular tool sliced through his abdomen.

Gregory’s wife, Frida was able to stop the bleeding before she took him to the closest hospital which was located 30 miles away from the couple’s home. Upon arrival, it took surgeons roughly two hours to remove the saw, which was buried almost 4 inches in Gregory’s stomach.

Thankfully, the blade missed his vital organs. Gregory vowed not to pick up another saw in his lifetime. He stated “Never again. That I swear and I stand by that. I will not use them any more. I can see that it is dangerous.”

Doctors claimed that Frida’s first aid efforts helped in saving her husband’s life.
