A Spur winged Lapwing along a river-bed in India.
It's Scientific name is Vanellus spinosus and it is around 31 centimeters long. It is the size of a Partridge. This bird lives on sandbanks and shingle beds of rivers.
It can be found from Manipur, Assam and associated states, Bangladesh, Bhutan and N India west to Haryana and Madhya Pradesh south to the Godaveri River.
