Drones are making a big splash in the food industry. Recently, the popular food chain Yo Sushi unveiled a flying drone, responsible for serving edible goodies.

The company described it as the “first flying serving tray”. An iPad app helps to control the food serving drone.

It has a lightweight carbon fiber frame along with two fixed cameras and four propellers. The flying contraption is capable of reaching speeds up to 25 miles per hour.

The drone is currently in a testing phase, as it cannot yet carry heavier food items. Polystyrene food and crackers are being used now to see how things go.

According to restaurant goers who have witnessed the drone in action, the nifty idea still needs some work. A spokesperson at the company stated “At the moment it's very much in the testing phase. We've not got a set date for rolling it on. ”

How do you like the idea? Would you like your food served by a drone?
