DEAD AT 116: World’s Oldest Man, World Record Holder, Gives Up His Title

The world’s oldest man, Jiroemon Kimura, has died in Osaka, Japan. He was born on April 19, 1897, at a time when there were only 45 states in the US. Kimura was not only the oldest living man present day, but the oldest living man in history, clocking in at 116 years and 54 days. The new title of oldest person now goes to 115 year old Misao Okawa, also of Japan.
