It's hard to beat Ben & Jerry’s when it comes to creative ice cream flavors. Now, the company has released plans to launch a line of city-themed flavors.

Called the "City Churned" project, Seattle, Washington, New York, San Francisco and Portland, Oregon will soon have their own flavors. As an innovative approach to choosing ingredients, Ben & Jerry’s has decided to allow web users and citizens to vote for what they want included in each city's ice cream.

The company has partnered with local businesses in those cities. In New York City, Spoonable Caramels and Sixpoint Brewery are taking part in the project.

Lovers of the Big Apple can choose the base ingredient, deciding between Greek frozen yogurt and standard ice cream. It’s coffee versus chocolate, specially made Brooklyn candies versus yellow cake pieces, and beer from Sixpoint brewery goes against fair-trade bananas in the online poll.

A Ben & Jerry’s truck is traveling through major American cities, dishing out free treats as a form of publicity for the project.
