Girls' Generation from South Korea kick off world tour

South Korea's Girls' Generation kicked off their world tour to a roaring crowd of excited fans in Seoul on Saturday (June 8).

The group, made up of nine girls, will be performing at venues across Asia, but is also set to play to fans in America and South America as part of the "2013 Girls' Generation World Tour Girls & Peace".

At a news conference (June 9) group leader, Taeyeon, told reporters she was excited about the band's upcoming adventure.

"I feel good and am honored for having a "World Tour" title this time at last. And I am very excited to meet fans worldwide as well."

And according to band member Tiffany the tour also carries a special meaning.
