Palestinians mark 46th anniversary of 1967 war with protests

STORY: Palestinians and international activists marched on Friday in Gaza and East Jerusalem to mark the 46th anniversary of the 1967 war in which Israel captured East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Jordan.

The protests were part of what organizers wanted to be a global event dubbed 'Global March to Jerusalem'.

The organizers called for "freedom for Jerusalem and its people as well as an end to the Apartheid policies affecting the people, land and sanctity of Jerusalem", the website of 'Global March to Jerusalem' indicated.

In Gaza, protesters marched towards the border between Gaza and Israel. A protester burnt the Israeli flag.

In East Jerusalem, protesters chanted slogans and waved the Palestinian flags outside Damascus Gate, one of the entrance to the walled Old City.
